Leeds United have confirmed a first professional contract for 17-year-old
midfielder Sam Chambers, who is enjoying a breakthrough into the U21s of late.
This season, the Whites’ U21 team has suffered as their standout young players
have either been transferred out on loan or permanently to other teams, or have
been promoted to the main team.
Leeds is positioned bottom of a 26-team league in the revised system, rubbing
shoulders with 22/23 championship winners Manchester City at the bottom
after winning promotion in the previous PL2 model last season.
