According to rumours, Liverpool has decided not to pursue Summerville further and is instead searching elsewhere for offensive reinforcements.
That would surprise some considering that Arne Slot, the manager of Feyenoord—the team where Summerville started his career—was named as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.
According to reports, Leeds will reportedly ask for more than £30 million to offload him, which would be a huge profit since they only paid £1.3 million to sign him in 2020.
Where Summerville ends up is still up in the air, but if they could charge that kind of money, it would be profitable for everyone.
Summerville proved during the season that he was good enough to warrant a major trade, and whoever acquires him will be receiving a gifted young player. Leeds would benefit monetarily greatly as well.
Although the transfer window doesn’t officially open until June 14, there has been no shortage of interest in a few Leeds players.
Even if Leeds’ lack of experience may have contributed to their failure to get promoted at the end of the season, younger players are always the most marketable and desirable to other teams.
