BREAKING: Cardinals GM Details Plans Ahead Of Free Agency
The idea was that the Arizona Cardinals, who had just begun their tenure under
Jonathan Gannon, wouldn’t be all that good straight soon.
GM Monti Ossenfort wants to maintain improving what they presently have.
With much cap space available, the team
can potentially make a significant addition during free agency.
Their available cap space will be over $42 million.
Even said, Ossenfort noted that the group should exercise caution when it comes to
going over budget and making decisions just for show:
Free agency’s inherent nature causes you
to overpay. That’s how things operate. It is rife with errors. That is not to say that
there aren’t any fixes there. We will take our chances and occasionally look for
ways to add players to our squad, but in the end, the draft will be how we
construct this team and what we will do going forward,” he stated.
A good group of selections were acquired
by Ossenfort and the Cardinals for the impending NFL Draft
It’s likely that those guys will be their most significant offseason additions
because they will have six picks in the first three rounds, including the No. 4 pick.
They’re set there because Kyler Murray
appears to be a franchise quarterback already.
Even said, most positions on their squad
might require improvement, and while developing young players is a good idea
for the future, some of them might not be ready to start right away.
WR Marquise In addition to needing a major offensive line overhaul, Brown is
expected to draw a lot of interest in free agency.
It remains to be seen if they will invest a significant amount of money to try to improve for the upcoming season, but
Cardinals supporters may be in for another difficult campaign in 2024,
particularly given that they play in one of the league’s hardest divisions.
