Breaking news >>Bredan Rodgers recent decision is causing…..

Celtic saw off St Johnstone yesterday at Parkhead to move a point clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and James Forrest got in on the act for the Bhoys, rendering a late Connor Smith effort to get the visitors on the scoresheet nothing more than a consolation.

Brendan Rodgers was delighted with what he saw on a day where his side held control against Craig Levein’s outfit, claiming that the Hoops could’ve had a few more goals to celebrate

He stated: “I’m very pleased, it was a very good performance. The whole stadium, it felt really good today and really connected. From the first whistle, the supporters got behind the team and got their rewards. We scored three goals and could have had more.”

Of course, the fact that Dundee vs Rangers was called off today has given Celtic fans the joy of being top of the league once again, albeit our rivals now have a game in hand to be pencilled in for a later date.

James Forrest opens up on Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic change

Due to injury concerns, Celtic boss Rodgers has needed to chop and change his side, allowing the likes of Tomoki Iwata, Stephen Welsh and Nicolas Kuhn, among others, to enjoy prolonged roles in the starting line-up.

Forrest himself has enjoyed a mini-renaissance over the last few weeks, entering the fray as a substitute to record a goal and an assist in his last two matches [Transfermarkt].

Speaking post-match, the 32-year-old shared his belief that Celtic are benefitting somewhat from their ability to change things around and still command results, which can only bode well once we return to action after the international break.

He stated [Celtic FC YouTube]: “I think that’s good as well. We’ve managed to use the squad the last few games, and I think that’s important for other boys to come back after the international break. I think it’s healthy the competition in the squad, and I think that can only make us better for going forward.”

Granted, nobody wants to have players unavailable for selection; nevertheless, there has to be some credit for the way those who had to step in did so yesterday, leading to a comfortable victory on home soil.
