According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old has made an incredible 455 appearances in green and white to date, tallying 64 goals and 76 assists.

With 53 caps throughout his time playing for Scotland, McGregor is one of the three players in a strong midfield tandem that also includes John McGinn and Scott McTominay.

Unfortunately, a calf/Achilles problem has kept the Lennoxtown product out of the Bhoys’ previous two competitive games against Livingston and Heart of Midlothian.

Last week, Brendan Rodgers provided a positive update on his injury situation, saying, “Hopefully, we can find a solution and he will be available following the international break.”

He has also been ruled out for the upcoming break in action. After being omitted from Steve Clarke’s squad, he will miss the Tartan Army’s friendly clashes against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland.

Nevertheless, Rodgers’ comments do indicate there could be light at the end of the tunnel, with McGregor likely to be a major part of our ongoing push for a domestic double upon his return.
