As soon as the news came out, Moore said “business is business” on social media, sharing how he felt about the trade. Moore only came to the Bears last year as part of the trade from the Carolina Panthers, who got the Bears No. 1 pick in the 2023 Draft.
The Bears have the top pick in the next 2024 Draft but had a decision to make over Fields, another first round pick. However with Williams regarded as a generational talent from a class that has been talk up, the Bears decided to let Fields go and make the most of their No. 1 pick.
Everyone thinks USC quarterback Williams will be picked first and become the new main man for the Bears, and he’s already got a strong player to throw to. The Bears traded for Keenan Allen, a wide receiver from the Los Angeles Chargers, earlier this week, giving Williams him and Moore as targets if Chicago picks him.
The Bears only gave up a fourth-round draft pick for Allen, and Moore seemed much happier about that. Moore put three grimace emojis on X, which seems like he’s excited about what they can do on offense in 2024.
After joining the Bears, Swift shared his excitement about working with Fields next season, even though that won’t happen now. “Justin’s my guy,” Swift told reporters on Thursday.
“I’ve always been a Justin Fields fan. From Georgia to when he was in high school once I first found out about him. I feel like he hasn’t even touched the ceiling of who he can be. I’m excited to see him keep going.”
Fields is only 25, but has a record of 10-28 since being drafted 11th overall in 2021. He’s only managed to pass over 200 yards in 13 games, throwing a total of 40 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.
In his two seasons at USC, Williams threw for 7,870 yards, 72 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions. It’s a different style to Fields, but with their offensive units heading into the new season, it could be the perfect fit
