BREAKING NEWS: I Won’t Continue Any More, A Nottingham Superstar…

Tottenham: Nuno Espirito Santo is NOT to blame for woeful recent form, claims Harry Redknapp | Daily Mail Online
Anthony Elanga, who joined Nottingham Forest last summer after leaving Manchester United, made the right choice, according to new Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The 47-year-old Dane made the assertion in remarks to the Swedish media, which Fotbollskanalen is quoting.

Elanga joined the Manchester United academy in 2014, and by 2021, he was a member of the first team.

Throughout his 55 games with the Red Devils, he managed four goals and four assists.

The 21-year-old has been able to enjoy consistent game time since joining Nottingham Forest. In 31 appearances, he has already racked up over 2,100 minutes of playtime, with five goals and seven assists.

Jon Dahl Tomasson believes the Sweden international has become more confident since joining Nottingham Forest.

“It was a good choice for him to go to [Nottingham] Forest. There he gains more confidence and gets to play more or less every game. Players need to play 90 minutes each week. It was a good move and he has done well in England,” he said.

Two years ago, Elanga received his first call-up for Sweden, when he was at Manchester United.

He made his senior team debut against Czech Republic in March 2022 and has so far made 13 appearances for them, scoring three goals in the process.

The winger was reduced to a substitute’s role in Sweden’s recent fixtures and hopes to turn things around for himself under Tomasson.

“Hopefully I can show what I can do during training. It’s where everything happens. If I then get the opportunity to start, I will of course not say no. It is always a great honour,”
