Financial analyst Kieran Maguire believes this to be true, telling Football Insider exclusively that this development is a “game changer for the history of football.”

The Foxes, who were accused of breaking financial standards, declared on Friday, March 22, that they had filed lawsuits against the Premier League and the EFL.

The EFL have placed Leicester under a registration embargo but the Foxes have disputed the punishment with a quarter of the 2023-24 accounting period still remaining.

If found guilty by an independent commission, Leicester could face a points deduction or a major fine depending on if they are promoted to the Premier League this season.

Leicester City’s Premier League legal dispute will alter “the history of football.”
According to Maguire, Leicester has chosen to face the Premier League head-to-head since they are “very unhappy” with the allegations.

“As far as the history of football is concerned, Leicester City’s decision to start proceedings against both the Premier League and the EFL is a game-changer,” Maguire told Sean Fisher of Football Insider.
