Breaking news:Leeds united star transfer reveal a clear message to chasing parties

Leeds United reportedly received French interest in Archie Gray during a prior transfer window

Nice attempted to sign Archie Gray from Leeds, but couldn’t afford him despite

being owned by Man U minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Gray’s breakout season at Leeds has attracted significant interest from top

clubs in Europe due to impressive performances at his young age.

Leeds set a £40m price tag for Gray, but clubs like Manchester City, Borussia

Dortmund, and Newcastle United are also interested in signing him.

French side Nice reportedly made an attempt to sign Archie Gray from Leeds United in a prior transfer window.

The 17-year-old was reportedly desired by a Ligue 1 club, but they could not afford to sign him.

Since Daniel Farke took over as manager in the summer, Gray has had a

breakthrough season with the Whites, making the jump to the first team.

Archie Gray’s breakout season at Leeds United

He made his debut in the Championship on the first weekend of the season, right

out of the starting lineup, and has since made 32 appearances overall, including 30 starts (Fbref).

Many people have praised his performances, especially in light of the

adaptability he has displayed with the Yorkshire group.

The midfielder has occasionally played right back and has contributed to the

team’s promotion attempt while out of position.

Archie Gray’s Nice reveal a message to interested parties

The report reveals that Nice’s hopes of signing Gray failed as a deal was out of

their price range budget despite the Ligue 1 club being owned by new

Manchester United minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The Whites are hoping that Gray’s recent signing of a new long-term contract in

January would put any thoughts of an Elland Road exit for the teenager on hold.

They have a strong negotiation position regarding the 17-year-old’s future

because his new contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2028

Gray’s excellent performance at this level for someone his age is no surprise that he is drawing interest from suitors.

But the Leeds starlet’s most recent progress sends a strong message to any

other teams who might be keeping an eye on him.

The fact that Nice, a Ligue 1 team that frequently participates in Europe and is

accustomed to eight-figure deals, was unable to afford the teenager indicates

that only the wealthiest clubs in Europe will be able to pry him away from the

Championship side, who will demand a sizable payment in order to let the rising star go.

The problem for Leeds is that those kinds of teams are expressing interest.

Prior to signing a new contract earlier this year, Ratcliffe was strongly linked to

Liverpool as a potential addition to Old Trafford. The young player has apparently been tagged for arrival.

Gray signed a four-year agreement, so it’s possible that his asking price has

grown from the £40 million the Whites reportedly set.

Although there hasn’t been as much talk about the adolescent moving to Anfield,

clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, and Newcastle United

are all rumored to be interested in signing him. If and when Gray does

leave Elland Road, it appears that he will be joining a club of that caliber.

But right now, the Whites and the 17-year-old don’t need to worry about it

because their main priority is getting promoted to the Premier League. Leeds

will probably want to raise the price even more if it is possible.
