BREAKING NEWS: New York Giants Interested in $77.6 Million Steelers Top Star But…

Over the past few days, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been at the center of some of the biggest stories in sport.

This week, following months of inquiries over their quarterback problem, they had a meeting with Russell Wilson.

Throughout the week, Pittsburgh made a number of major roster cuts to free up cap space.

It appears that they may be able to trade one of their stars at this point.

NFL teams are interested in wide receiver Diontae Johnson, and the Steelers are willing to consider offers for him, according to Diana Russini of The Athletic.

Time Is Running Out for the Steelers: There have long been rumors that Johnson might leave the team in the offseason.

In February, there was a report indicating that Johnson’s future with the squad was uncertain.

The Steelers weren’t opposed to the idea of trading him, according to another one that occurred early in March.

Although Johnson appeared to refute the rumor in a tweet, it’s not out of the question that the Steelers may trade for him this summer.

Johnson has a two-year, $36.7 million contract that is about to expire.

Given their track record of letting receivers depart rather than offering them large contracts, the Steelers clearly didn’t want to commit to Johnson for more than two years when they offered him a two-year extension.

They also had meetings at the NFL Combine with some of the most well-known receivers who might take Johnson’s spot.

It would make sense for the Steelers to try to get something in return for Johnson if this is going to be his final season in Pittsburgh anyhow, so they can work on finding a replacement.
