With their selection for the second overall pick, the Washington Commanders have the potential to surprise the NFL. The Chicago Bears are expected to select Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, leaving the Commanders to select among Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy is scheduled to visit with Washington prior to his Pro Day on Thursday. Before McCarthy throws at his Pro Day, the Commanders will have dinner with him, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. McCarthy and the Commanders will get together again. During the Scouting Combine last month, the two parties had a conversation.McCarthy described the Commanders meeting in terms of “just the overall energy,” as reported by Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post.
