By adding Adam Idah on loan from Norwich City towards the end of the January transfer window, Celtic was able to strengthen their attacking line.

The lack of a buyout option in his short-term contract made the Republic of Ireland international an unpopular addition among Parkhead supporters.

Despite this, the 23-year-old has made a significant impression at Parkhead, scoring five goals and providing one assist in his first nine games [Transfermarkt].

Since signing, Idah has performed some late heroics against Motherwell and Hibernian to keep Brendan Rodgers’ reigning champions from slipping even further behind in the Scottish Premiership title chase.

Idah provides versatility in the closing third. He has played alone and in front of Kyogo Furuhashi’s assault in front of two, and he will carry over invaluable knowledge from his time with the Celtics into his next endeavors.

Early this year, reports from Ireland suggested that the Hoops could be able to sign the Cork native for about £3 million.

It’s unclear if Celtic will make any moves to sign him long-term because Rodgers will probably evaluate his team in the summer before making any final selections.

Idah’s ability and potential are well known to former Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny, who has worked with him extensively in both the senior and Under-21 setups for the Boys in Green.
