For the first time this season and only the second time in his five-year career, McLaurin finished the game with no receptions. A season-low three times were they directed at him. One of the top
shutdown corners in the NFL and standout cornerback for the Dolphins, Jalen Ramsey, is perhaps the reason for his lack of opportunities.
McLaurin is far and away Washington’s best receiver, as he leads the team with 67 catches, 694 yards and 90 targets this season. However, he has only managed to reach the end zone twice and his
average of 11.6 yards per catch is a career-low. His production this year is clearly not what he was hoping for after being selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career in 2022.
Washington’s fourth straight loss dropped the team to 4-9. The Commanders will have their bye in Week 14 to figure things out before returning to action on Dec. 17 against the Los Angeles Rams.
