Breaking news:

West Ham now want to sign 24-year-old assist king

It is fair to say that some of Leeds United’s transfer decisions when Jesse Marsch was in charge have not gone to plan.

The Whites brought in six new players during Marsch’s only summer as

manager yet Wilfried Gnonto is the only one who is still at the club, with the rest

either having been sold, or out on loan

There were also a few player sales made during that window with Kalvin Phillips

and Raphinha, of course, the ones who made the headlines, but perhaps there is one Leeds regret more than any other.

That is Leif Davis. Leeds sold Davis to Ipswich Town for just ÂŁ1.2 million and in

the one-and-a-half-seasons that have followed, he has been a key part of their incredible rise.

Now, according to talkSPORT, West Ham and Newcastle United have registered

their interest in signing Davis ahead of the summer due to his form at Ipswich.

West Ham and Newcastle want Davis

Davis has established himself as an assist king since joining the Tractor

Boysproviding 26 assists from left-back, 12 of which have come this season. No

player has more, though Georginio Rutter and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have the same.

The 24-year-old is, of course, pushing to beat his former club Leeds to promotion

this season as Ipswich currently sit third on 72 points, behind the Whites only on goal difference.

Both are among a group of four teams setting a standard that has never been

seen before at this level, though the fact Ipswich have only just been promoted, makes it even more impressive.

However, should they fail to secure promotion, some of their players are

bound to attract interest and Davis will certainly be top of that list thanks to his performances.

There is no doubt that if he is sold, Davis will be going for an awful lot more

money than the ÂŁ1.2 million Leeds sold him for.
