Callum McGregor, the captain of Celtic, trains SEE MORE…

Ahead of their trip to Ibrox, Celtics captain Callum McGregor has been training with the team. He is still recovering from an injury.

The 30-year-old sustained an injury during the 7-1 victory over Dundee at the end of February, and has been sidelined for just over a month.

He could now make a comeback when the Hoops play Rangers in their top-of-the-table matchup.

Though they are only one point ahead of their local rivals who also have a game in hand, the champions are now leading the Premiership.

In light of the fact that the teams are scheduled to play again following their separation, this weekend’s Old Firm match could have a significant impact on who will win the trophy in May.

Before the match, which will be played in front of 50,000 Rangers supporters with no away

support, Celtic supporters will be greatly encouraged by the sight of their inspirational captain fully recovered.

McGregor has missed four games for Brendan Rodgers’ team, missing Scotland’s two friendlies against The Netherlands and Northern Ireland as well as a 2-0 loss to Hearts at Tynecastle.

When Rodgers addresses the media later on Friday, it is anticipated that he will clarify if the midfield player will go with his team across town.
