A Highway Patrol Group (HPG) operative’s commander who was discovered working as a security escort on the side has been added to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) investigation into the illicit activity.

PNP commander Police General Rommel Marbil issued the directive when it was discovered that the HPG employees and a soldier were acting as motorbike escorts, according to a dzBB report by Glen Juego on Tuesday.
According to the report, Marbil tried to find out if their direct superiors knew about any of these activities going on within their ranks.
Marbil stated that it is forbidden for PNP personnel to work two jobs, particularly when they are on duty.
According to the report, HPG chief Brigadier General Jay Cumigad chastised his wards over the event on Monday.
