It is no secret that Celtic need to sign a goalkeeper next summer. In fact, they might need to bring in multiple. One who is certain to leave is the club’s number one between the posts, Joe Hart. The Englishman has been a starter for the Hoops since 2021 but will be retiring at the end of this season. Scott Bain’s contract is also in its final few months while Benjamin Siegrist is also expected to leave after two uneventful campaigns since his move to Glasgow as a free agent.

So, they might need to look elsewhere. And Scotland number one, Angus Gunn, could be a solid option to replace Hart as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Gunn is currently at Norwich City, where he has a little over a year left on his contract. If they fail to win promotion to the Premier League, the Scotland international leaving would be very much a possibility and an option that the Hoops should definitely consider.
