Paulo Fonseca, the manager of LOSC Lille, will be replaced by Bruno Génésio, the club confirmed.
Paulo Fonseca will step down as head coach of LOSC Lille, and Bruno Génésio will take his position. At the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, the Portuguese depart the northern side after two seasons. Fonseca led Les Dogues to fifth place in his debut season, even though a number of important players—including Zeki Çelik, Renato Sanches, and Amadou Onana—left that summer. Lille finished fourth in the current season and achieved a historic run to the UEFA Conference League quarterfinals, where they were defeated by Aston Villa on penalties. After finishing fourth in the league, the team qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since the 2021–2022 campaign.
