‘I’VE GOT NOTHING AGAINST IPSWICH…’ TIM SHERWOOD SENDS A DEFIANT LEEDS UNITED MESSAGE LIVE ON THE RADIO

Leeds United provided some serious spice to the Championship promotion battle when they beat leaders Leicester City last Friday to smash open the pressure door.

A few weeks ago, many believed that Leeds, Ipswich Town, and Southampton were in a fight for the one automatic spot, but that is no longer the case!

Saying that, Leicester still hold a six-point lead over Daniel Farke’s men, who are level on points with newly-promoted Ipswich in third.

When asked who he would like to see in the Premier League the following season, Tim Sherwood made it plain that he wanted Leeds to return in a big way. He made this comment on talkSPORT Breakfast on February 29, 24 at 9:55 a.m.

“I have nothing against Ipswich,” the former manager of Tottenham and Aston Villa continued, adding that Kieran McKenna has done a “wonderful job” at Portman Road.

Only last season, the Tractor Boys were in England’s third tier, yet fast forward to the present and they are competing with three teams, recently relegated from the Premier League, for a spot with the elite.

One thing is for sure, despite a few blips here and there, they aren’t backing down and those from Yorkshire have a fight on their hands.

Just like the Foxes and Southampton, they are hoping for an instant return and Tim Sherwood wants to see it happen

Who will win promotion to the Premier League?

Sherwood described Ipswich Town and Leeds United as “both very well supported.” However, Leeds is one of my favorite venues to visit. It was always fun for me to play there.

Regarding Elland Road or Portman Road: “Eland Road, please. It would have been a great experience to play at Portman Road with Norwich, as I have never done.

Leeds United’s FA Cup display at Chelsea

The Whites’ tight FA Cup loss to Chelsea 3-2 on Wednesday night gave them a taste of what it would be like to play against a Premier League team.

Despite taking an early lead, Conor Gallagher provided the sucker punch to send Farke’s players crashing out in the dying moments of the match.

Many would argue it wasn’t deserved because the Championship side were the better team, especially in the second half.

But, in terms of performance, if Leeds produce that for the rest of their promotion run-in, then there is no reason why they shouldn’t be playing Chelsea at Elland Road and Stamford Bridge next season.
