United is unlikely to buckle under pressure and is optimistic about keeping
the flying winger in the lineup this summer.
The previous season, the Whites were
demoted from the Premier League following a dismal campaign in which
they finished 19th and managed just seven victories. And even though they
made it back to the second division in just three years, a major portion of their
team moved quickly to leave Leeds and find other positions, many of which were
on loan agreements due to contractual obligations.
However, a number of well-known
players quickly abandoned ship, but Dutch winger Summerville avoided all
transfer interest and made it plain that he intended to stay.
The 22-year-old originally relocated to
West Yorkshire in the summer of 2020 when still a youngster from Feyenoord,
with the Eredivisie team paying the gifted wideman £1.3 million, thanks to
the previous director of football Victor Orta.
And although Summerville had to wait his turn for a shot in the side at first, he
worked hard and polished his skills, picking the brains of players like
Raphinha, who served as a sort of mentor to the Dutchman.
Under Jesse Marsch, regular opportunities began to materialize in the f
all of 2022. Summerville scored the game winning goal in a victory against

against Bournemouth and Tottenham prior to the World Cup break.
And even though relegation seemed inevitable and many of the team’s best
players were leaving, Summerville never once made a move to quit and has
emerged as the team’s most valuable player this season.
Summerville has performed admirably under Daniel Farke’s direction this
season, amassing eight assists and 16 goals in 32 games thus far.
Leeds confident of keeping their star man from Prem vultures
As a result, Summerville has contributed a goal every 1.3 games, highlighting his
abilities and value to Leeds as they aim for an early Premier League return.
As expected, this has led to strong
rumors that the player is interested in joining teams further up the ladder right
now. Among his admirers are Liverpool, Newcastle, and Aston Villa
But this week, TEAMtalk exclusively
disclosed that Chelsea is closely monitoring the player in front of the
summer transfer window. Pochettino is eager to get the winger, who is expected
to be called up to the Netherlands team, to Stamford Bridge.
Nevertheless, whether or not the Blues
make a formal bid to pique Leeds’ interest, they will fancy their chances of
keeping the midfielder at Elland Road if they do win promotion.
In order to increase their chances,
former Whites player Carlton Palmer stated in an interview with Football
League World that his old team will want an extremely high fee.
He said, “Summerville from Leeds United is someone Chelsea has identified as
someone they want to recruit in the summer.”
Although Leeds are dominating the
Championship this year, the 22-year-old has been in incredible form, and they see
him as the ideal complement to their already enormous squad.
“Obviously, Chelsea is a big deal if Leeds
are promoted to the Premier League.” Premier League – club – but if he’s
playing well under Daniel Farke, then surely he would want to stay.”

Chelsea told how much deal for Leeds star Summerville will cost
Palmer continued, “But, at the end of the
day, we all know that money talks, and should there be an unbelievable offer for
Summerville, I think they will be forced to look at it.” Palmer is aware that a
sizable offer may give Leeds something to think about.
“He appears to want to stay, and it will be a huge financial commitment, but Leeds
are in a strong negotiation position because his contract isn’t up until 2026.
Additionally, there isn’t a release clause.
A buyout clause was included, but it is no longer in effect.
Additionally, Liverpool and Aston Villa
are expressing strong interest, which will only drive up the price.
“I estimate that it will cost you between
£30 and £40 million to move him out and for Leeds to sell him.
“However, there is still work to be done;
Leeds needs to advance and return to the Premier League.”
There will be a rush to get his signature if they don’t. It will cost a lot of money to
get him out of Leeds, but even if they do, he will still be in high demand.
