Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away

from Tottenham for the whole season already, so it’s not

surprising that sources at Football Insider have heavily

suggested the Danish midfielder will not be at the club for next season.

After featuring prominently for Spurs over the last few

years and for various different managers, Pierre-Emile

Hojbjerg has found himself pushed to the fringes of Ange Postecoglou‘s team this term.

He may have made 27 appearances in all

competitions this season, but the majority of those have

come as a substitute, with an average of just 42 minutes per game (Transfermarkt).

have claimed that, with interest coming from Serie A clubs like Juventus, a

‘farewell’ is on the cards for Hojbjerg in the near future.

It is said that Spurs are open to selling up, too, if they get an offer for the right

price (GiveMeSport). According to Alasdair Gold, the Lilywhites would be

willing to let Hojbjerg go for around £20m.

Now, according to sources at Football Insider, the end is nigh for Hojbjerg, and

Tottenham have already come to terms with the fact the player will be leaving this summer.

It is thought Spurs “do not expect” Hojbjerg to be a part of the squad next

season. While advances were knocked back last summer and in January, that is

only because they want a permanent sale, not a loan move.

A departure this summer is now “highly likely” after “strong interest” has been

shown from Serie A. This report cites a price closer to £15-18m for the player

I do like Hojbjerg, and I think he will excel at another club. Sadly, he’s just not

quite dynamic enough and adventurous enough for Postecoglou’s system. He’s

done a great job covering this season, but we will very likely upgrade in the summer.
