Leicester City transfer claim made on Inter Milan player
Stefano Sensi could still move to the King
Power Stadium despite failing to secure a January switch.
Stefano Sensi’s most likely destination is
still Leicester City despite a January deal collapsing.
The Italian midfielder is currently on
the sidelines, but should return before the end of the season.
Sensi could be a cost-effective signing –
and could allow Leicester to spend money on other areas of their team.
Given that the Foxes added a number of quality players during the summer
transfer window, it is not surprising that
they were not particularly active during the January transfer window
The team’s ascent to the top of the Championship table was aided by these
signings, and despite Leeds United closing the nine-point difference
between them and the Midlands club, the Foxes still maintain a sizable lead
over all of their opponents for promotion.
However, the league leaders may have sought to bolster a few areas heading
into the January transfer window, particularly their left-back department.
A little surprise may have been felt by
some when Cesare Casadei was called up
by Chelsea from his loan period, as he
was expected to play out the entire season at King Power Stadium.
The Italian was always going to be replaceable, though, because of the
criticism leveled at some of his performances.
Sensi was destined to be the park’s replacement, as the Italian was
frequently associated with a move to
Leicester during the January transfer window.
The midfield player is destined to play out the rest of the season at the San Siro
after Fabrizio Romano even claimed that a deal was close to being finalized.
Update on Stefano Sensi after Leicester City deal collapses
According to the Calcio Mercato report (via Sport Witness), the player will be
sidelined for around a month following surgery.
In light of this, the player ought to be
open to leaving the massive Italian team in the summer.
His contract expires on this day, and it is unclear if he will be given the
opportunity to continue working with his current employer after that.
But according to Calcio Mercato,
Leicester is still the midfielder’s most
likely destination at this time, with Enzo
Maresca’s team maybe keeping an interest in him.
Leicester City should continue Stefano Sensi pursuit
The Foxes appeared to be vying for Sensi’s services.
And it would be obvious for the Midlands club to pursue the youngster
further given that he will be available for free in the summer.
Burnley has been spending a lot of money on players since joining the
Premier League, but they have not had much luck.
Leicester might be just as successful at adding players to the Clarets if they can
pull off some cunning, low-cost transactions.
