Michael Dawson shares what he’s heard about Evangelos Marinakis at Nottingham Forest

Michael Dawson has said Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis

was not expecting a relegation battle this season.

Forest will want to forget this season because they are struggling to finish in the bottom half of the standings.

Their Saturday away draw against Luton Town hasn’t changed all that much, but

they no longer have the chance to steal points from a rivals

Despite having the advantage, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team had to settle for a point on Saturday at Kenilworth Road.

The visitors took the lead in the first half thanks to Chris Wood, but Luke Berry’s

equalization in the final minutes of play cost them the maximum points.

Forest currently stay three points clear of the drop, although they are still at risk

of suffering a points deduction from the Premier League.

Prior to the game this afternoon, Dawson stated on Sky Sports that the

Forest owner was anticipating much more given the amount that had been invested.

“The owner didn’t see them being in this position,” he stated. One, with a potential

point deduction looming, but I’m positive he didn’t anticipate a fight for

relegation given the amount of money they’ve spent.

But that only highlights how difficult the Premier League is. I used to advise them

to attempt to stay for a few years after getting promoted in order to establish

themselves. For a very long time, don’t expect to be among the top 10 sides.
