Former Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa has pinpointed better salaries as one of the key factors that hold the PSL players from going overseas.

It was highly anticipated that most of Bafana players’ life would not be the same after the recent Africa Cup of Nations showpiece in Ivory Coast.

However, so far, no player from that Afcon squad switched from their SA teams to any team in Europe.

Nonetheless, the players can still make moves as the transfer window is set to open this coming winter.

But, the erstwhile Moroka Swallows and Bidvest Wits goalkeeper, De Sa, has claimed that money could be the reason players can’t move away from teams like Mamelodi Sundowns.

Following an impressive Bafana’s display during the Afcon tournament, players like captain Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Evidence Makgopa and Khuliso Mudau, just to name a few, have been subject of interest from some clubs in the top five leagues in the world.

Led by goalkeeper Williams, Bafana showcased resilience and determination, as they exceeded expectations in the 34th Afcon edition and managed to secure SA’s first continental medal since 2000.
