Sky Sports pundit in awe of Leeds United youngster who always

Sky Sports pundit Sue Smith has given her verdict on Leeds United youngster Archie Gray.

The former Leeds United Women and England international player has noted what makes Gray a special player.

Archie Gray has come through the Leeds United youth system and has now established himself in the first team.

Gray is one of the best and most important players in Daniel Farke’s team. He is only 17 now.

What is even more remarkable about the England Under-20 international is that despite being a midfielder by trade, he is being used as a right-back.

And, Gray is doing extremely well in that role. The teenager has made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season. He has given two assists in those games.

The teenager has also made two starts and one substitute appearance in the FA Cup and has played twice in the Carabao Cup this campaign.

Praise for Leeds United youngster Archie Gray

Former Leeds United Women and England international play Sue Smith has spoken highly of Gray.

Smith said about Gray on Sky Sports News (1:14 pm, March 2, 2024): “I think the fact that he can play full-back, he can play in midfield, at such a young age, he is so mature and he plays with a real confidence, wanting the ball and wanting to play it forward.”

Archie Gray needs to be protected

In my opinion, Leeds United teenager Archie Gray has to be given time and space to grow and develop at his own pace.

I do not think that anyone should put undue pressure on him. There will be moments when the teenager will struggle, and there will come a point when he has a dip in form.

During those tough moments, everyone at Leeds, including the fans, has to be supportive and not be harsh.

We have to remember that Gray is only 17. He is a teenager and is just starting his career.
