The center back was substituted in the second half as Hibs triumphed at home
2-1. Elezier Mayenda, a fellow loanee from Sunderland, began the match on
the bench but saw no action.
Following his own January loan move from Sunderland to Hibs, the striker has
only made one league appearance off the bench. Mayenda and Triantis were
both brought in by the Black Cats during the summer transfer window, however
they were both loaned away in January after failing to secure a starting position.
In his sixth game for Oxford United after signing on loan during the winter
window, Jay Matete started in League One on Saturday but was unable to stop
his team’s 2-1 setback
In League Two, Alex Bass got the start in goal as AFC Wimbledon lost 1-0 to
Doncaster Rovers. This was the goalie’s 34th league start for the team this
season. In his sixth appearance of the season, Jack Diamond got the start for
Carlisle United in their 2-1 away loss to Bristol Rovers in League One.
Over the weekend, Shrewsbury Town’s loanee defender Joe Anderson did not
play a minute and did not even make the bench. Sunday afternoon will see
Jewison Bennette’s loan team Aris return to action.
Goalkeeper Matty Young, 16, began as Darlington defeated Buxton 2-1 in the
National League North. The highly
regarded stopper is still gaining playing time and experience.
