York City add highly-rated Leeds youngster Charlie Allen on-loan

YORK City have completed the signing of highly-rated Leeds United youngster Charlie Allen on an initial one-month loan deal.

Neal Ardley has extended York’s fight to stay in the Vanarama National League by bringing in Leeds youngster Allen on a

one-month loan. At the moment, City is only three points off of safety.

 

The attacking midfielder Allen, a youth international for Northern Ireland, made

his debut for Linfield FC, the top level team in Northern Ireland, at the age of

In August 2020, Leeds signed Allen as a playmaker, and he played for both the under-18 and under-23 teams before

extending his contract for an additional year in the

academy teams have visited Leeds’ home field several times this season.

 

Allen has been training with the York team, according to Ardley, who made the

announcement during this morning’s news conference. Allen can be chosen for

Tuesday, February 20’s (7.45pm) City game against Oldham Athletic at the LNER Community StadIn the EFL Trophy,

Allen played 24 times for Leeds’ academies and first team, scoring three goals. This season, the 20-year-old has

played in seven more Premier League 2 games, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
